Polyurethane foam spray technology requires additional heating equipment to heat the foam components. The components of polyurethane foam are heated to 35-65C. For this purpose heating plates and band heaters are used.
The heating plates heats the bottom of the barrel, from where the agent is being sucked and pumped. The components of polyurethane foam become runny when heated which makes the pump’s work a lot easier. This increases longevity of the pump without necessity to replace the sealants.
The heating plates heat the components from the bottom. The heat spreads from the base of the barrel, from where the agent is absorbed by the pump. This is the best way to heat PU foam components.
Heating bands are cheaper, but they do not heat the agent from the bottom and require liquid mixing. Heating the liquid on the sides of the barrel does not give the same effect as with using the heating base, because the heat always goes up. In the heating bases, on the contrary, the heat spreads upwards evenly.
